Jesus fulfilled so many prophecies in His
birth. The place, Bethlehem, had been foretold hundreds of years before
by Micah. Though Joseph and Mary were living in Nazareth at the time,
God arranged the events so that He would be born in the city named in
the prophecy.
The name Beth-lehem means "house of bread". It is very significant that
the 'Bread of Life" was born there, for it is by the sacrifice of His
body that we receive healing and eternal life.
An even more amazing fact is that the lambs used in the Passover
sacrifice were taken from special sheep born and raised in the area
around Bethlehem. Jesus, the Lamb of God, who was born there was also
crucified at the very hour on Passover when the Temple priests were
starting the feast's slaying of the lambs that were a requirement of the
Law's stipulation!
Jesus, born in the right place, for the fulfillment of Scripture, is our
Savior.
Remember...
We need to always focus on Christ!
The blessing of
our Lord on you and all that is yours by blood, adoption or assignment!
